How the 80% price difference works
Supported Codex routes use a consistent 0.20× retail ratio. A reference price shown at 1.00× is multiplied by 0.20 for Jaideepass usage.
A $10 gateway balance therefore covers approximately the same listed usage as $50 at the 1.00× reference rate.
This comparison assumes the same model, context tier and token mix. Gateway credit is not official OpenAI balance and cannot be transferred to ChatGPT or an OpenAI account.
What uses your Codex balance?
Codex routes are metered using the input, cached input, output, cache-write and supported long-context tokens involved in each request.
Output-heavy work, large repositories and extended sessions can use more credit than small edits. The dashboard records your usage and each deduction.

Choosing a Codex credit pack
$10 is useful for testing a custom provider or covering occasional extra usage. $50 fits regular coding, debugging and repository work.
$100 suits sustained use across multiple projects, while $500 is the higher-balance option for frequent, token-heavy workflows. Unused balance does not expire.
Use the credits with Codex CLI or the Codex app
After redemption, you receive the production Base URL and access to your API key.
The setup instructions cover adding the custom Base URL, API key and model, running a first test and checking usage in the dashboard. No personal ChatGPT or OpenAI login is required for gateway billing.
Codex gateway credit is separate from ChatGPT credit
OpenAI can provide Codex access and usage through ChatGPT. Jaideepass is a separate prepaid independent gateway.
Buying Jaideepass credit does not add balance to ChatGPT. Codex sends supported model requests to the delivered Base URL, and the gateway deducts usage from your prepaid balance.
This option is designed for personal coding, testing and flexible pay-as-you-go usage. If your organization requires invoices issued directly by OpenAI or provider-backed enterprise contracts, choose the purchasing route that meets those requirements.
